Hackety Hackety Tootle

No mucking out today - whooo hooo!

Had cheese toasties at the yard, yum yum.

Helped with spotty training and he was a Very Very Good Boy!

Then finally went for a tootle with H&L. Just round roads and back via fields, all in walk as H hasn't been out in company/over fields for a long time but he did very well to keep a lid on it.

T hadn't been ridden since Debut but did he care? Did he hell ... he just plodded along quiet as anything, long rein and for some strange reason today liked to smell the tarmac?! Bit disconcerting when his nose disappears to the floor, not least because he's 17h and his reins don't reach that far so I have to go down with him LOL

Debating what we need to take next week for Strider course. Hmmmm... need to find some jods unless I take show ones?

And boots? Shall I take my show gaiters cos they're the ones I struggle to ride in or my normal boots cos they're the ones I usually ride in or go for comfort and take non riding shoes? Hmmmm

Oh and mental note to clean saddle!

Really want to organise another Easter Egg Hunt for the yard this year but last time I did it, everyone had a rideable horse. We have a couple of people on the yard who have youngsters now so don't really know how to do an Easter Egg Hunt for both mounted and unmounted people? Would need to involve the youngster horses too ... need to think on it I think!

  1. I reckon I'd take both pairs of boots and explain that while you usually ride in one pair you struggle to ride in the other.
